New PU 18 sheet pileDue to the huge success of the AU 16, the production of the PU 16 will be stopped at the end of 2004. The PU 16 will be replaced by the new PU 18.The PU 18 has been specially developed for construction sites where the soil properties are difficult. It has similar reinforced corners web/flanges as the PU 22. This will have a favourable impact on the stiffness of the section and the driving energy. The PU 18 will fill up the space between the PU 12 and the PU 22.  The PU 18 offers in comparison with the PU 16 an increment of 12.5 % of the elastic section modulus for a weight increment of less than 3 %. The 1 mm downrolled PU 18 (PU 18-1) gives a weight saving in the order of 3 % in comparison with the PU 16 and this for a higher section modulus.
